Testimonials
James Ford, COO/Partner, Capstone and Carestone Funeral Holdings
I had the privilege of hiring and working with Amy for several years. During that time, Amy proved to be a tireless mentor, trainer and leader. She authored several policy manuals regarding various compliance and operational processes and subjects, followed up with training and implementation with management and field personnel. She has no problem with traveling to locations, that was a very routine part of her job.
Perhaps even more importantly, Amy was a wonderful sounding board, she was never hesitant about telling me that I needed to think of something or approach an issue in a different way. Fortunately for me, she was almost always right.

Q & A
Why did you choose your profession?
I really loved understanding operations from start to finish and how I could help make the worst day in someone’s life a little better, except I was able to do it from the background, by teaching others how to operate better.
Who are your main influences?
My former leader with Stewart Enterprises was my mentor who taught me how to understand how operations, compliance, and safety go hand-in-hand. She taught me reasonable thinking and application, and how to work with field leaders.
My family was another major influence, specifically my dad and brother, because I learned my work ethic from them and that I can do absolutely anything I put my mind to.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
Developing, training and implementing the Train-the-Trainer program from ground zero where we utilized field leaders who truly followed policies and procedures properly to teach them how to teach, assess and guide other field leaders to ensure operations were consistent and smooth throughout the company to reduce errors and claims and create a better culture throughout the company.
What tools do you use?
Most MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams), Google (Meet, Docs, Sheets), HubSpot, Fiix, PlotBox, RizePoint, Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator). Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet are the main virtual meeting platforms I have used.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in your profession?
Spend as much time in the field as you can spare learning what each role at a location does each day and respect what they know and what they have to go through. Listen to those you watch and learn from. This will teach a leader how to lead and ways of working with all different types of people and the roles they hold.
